Mystic Harbor

Mystic Harbor is the original setting of our fledgling D&D family campaign. It was made before the rest of the world was thought out. We had all played D&D before and didn't want to waste time with the opening levels, so we all rolled characters starting at level 4. We picked level 4 because we enjoy the growth and struggle of the characters from about that level through about level 12. I'm not sure what happens about that level, but we all itch to make new characters again by then. Maybe they are too powerful for our stories. Maybe we just get bored with them. Perhaps we are just ADD. But I digress. The Fantasy World of Valcress all started in Mystic Harbor.

To use an analogy, Mystic Harbor is that wretched hive of scum and villainy that we all have come to know and love throughout most fantasy settings. Freeport, Mos Eisley, and Tortuga are all mostly analogous to each other and Mystic Harbor. The city is a thriving port with docks and warehouses supporting a healthy amount of criminal activity with some innocent shopkeepers trying to scrape out a living. It's government is corrupt, but effective. There is even a university for students of magic in the city that manages to maintain a slightly better reputation than the rest of the city. It's like the community-college of wizardry.

The city is the home port of The Grey Lady merchant ship, captained by Lennox Redwater and the main transportation to adventure for the party.
