Why the name Meatsack?

The first thing you need to know is that this site used to be called Meatsack's Workshop. I've converted the site from using my online gaming persona to my name for professional purposes. I do want to be taken seriously as a creative, so I need my efforts to look professional and not turn off potential followers with an immature attitude. Below is the post I made explaining my mind at the time. I think it's still an interesting read and insight as to how I think.

What is the first thing you think about when you hear the name "Meatsack?" If you are an average person, you think something dirty or disgusting. Allow me to direct your attention to The Urban Dictionary's definitions of Meatsack. I prefer the definition "a reference to the body in the fatalistic aspect that after it dies all it is a meat for something else to eat". You can now relax in awkward guilt over your initial thoughts. There is nothing embarrassing about the name Meatsack. I first noticed it in the movie Men In Black when the bug in the Edgar suit was taking the mortician hostage. He flings the term Meatsack at the agents as an epithet before jumping out the window. It stuck in my mind as amusing. Later, when the game Unreal Tournament was released for PC (circa 2000), I made a character to play and got stuck on the naming screen. (That is the worst part of making any character for me is coming up with a name.) I did not expect to be playing for very long or seriously, so I tapped in the name Meatsack in memory of that scene in MIB. I mean, the game has meaty bits flying everywhere! It fit. It stuck. I started using it whenever I played a FPS game. It carried over to LAN parties and online forums. It became my online persona.

I occasionally Google search "Meatsack" to see if I am still out there. I am. Mostly in relation to the TRON community and particularly with User Error. That is me. Others have used it as well. Nobody has gotten famous with it anywhere else, so I do not think that there is any claim to that name. Maybe I can change that someday...
